ICON partners with local reporters, including Rural Watch News, who risk their lives to document Nigeria’s crisis. Help protect their work and their freedom of expression.

ICON is proud to partner with local reporters in Nigeria. We are currently working to empower several reporters with “Rural Watch News,” as well as other freelance journalists. Their work carries enormous responsibility, and often, their lives are at risk of attack or persecution.

Freedom of expression needs to be protected. As Nigeria continues to suffer an ongoing slaughter of innocent lives, we are fortunate to partner with these brave journalists as they provide solid research and reporting. Recently, freelance journalist Luka Binniyat was arrested for his reporting on the genocide in Nigeria.
